Jamey Rodemeyer was only 14 years old when he killed himself lastmonth on September 22nd because he was bullied about his sexuality Inthis article by Danah Boyd and Alice Marwick for The New York Times theytalk about how his death has sparked the conversation of cyber bullyingand how parents should stop it Most kids that are bullied dont want to admit it because they feelembarrassed or scared Kids want to be in control of their own life sosocially their reputation doesnt get ruined It takes much courage toadmit wether youre the perpetrator or victim In the case of Jamey he knewwhat was happening to him The kids dont really consider this bullyingMost people especially girls like to call the conflicts in their lifedrama People often inflict drama because it allows them to distancethemselves from painful situations Teenagers look for attention that theycan get from this Adults have been trying anti-bullying efforts but oftenthey make the teenagers feel victimized They need to emotionally supportthem and make them feel like everything will be okay For all of this toreally work adults need to start paying more attention to the language oftodays youth I do agree with everything this article has said Most kids thesedays are victimized by other kids through social networking sites moreoften then orally being bullied In the case of Jamey Rodemeyer kids madefun of his sexuality Often these days kids take out their frustration andhate on the internet thinking they honestly they wont conflict damage onthe kid their sending it to but they do Adults honestly need to be moreinvolved with their kids life so damage can be prevented Sometimes parentsdont really know how to handle the the hate emotionally and they justreport it and thats it They need to start understanding the
