American Cultures and traditions can be traced back to over 200 yearsago The beginnings of our country began with the nihilistic mentalitiesof the white supremacy The image of the white race being dominatedbasically shaped American culture From Wall Street to the wealthiest ofthem all the rich conquer America and continue to maximize the Americandream every day Whoever says racism is non-existent in America is insome ways an idiot One of the man contributors to the active whitesupremacy and expanding the racial stereotypes of our society is popculture and media The media plays a massive role in a lot of thingsbut mostly for the creation of white stereotypes that target people inour own society Authors Maasik and Solomon argue that racism in nolonger a tradition of the American Culture as they conclude theracial hierarchies of the past are visibly receding and the contentof popular culture is increasingly multicultural in every sense of theterm I do not agree with these ideas in anyway Unfortunately racismis still a major part of our society and our culture Sometimes itsextremely unintentional but it still is the foundation of what ourcountry is If you watch a lot of TV you would probably understand more clearly whatIm trying to say The major roles in TV shows such as BewitchedHappily Divorced and The Bachelor more often then not are white malesor females with co stars or minor roles belonging to black males andfemales Another perfect example of this is the movie called TheHelp This movie hands down was the best movie Ive ever seen in mylife But speaking in a more analytical terms the movie was about blackor Negro people during the civil oppression of the early 1900s howeverit was through the point of view of a white women This shows how mediareinforces the racism if the main character were a black women itwouldnt of made as much money Its a shame the co- star or supportingactors are forced to be black
