Bridget's feedback:
"This is a really insightful discussion. I encourage you to keep digging into the idea of place and liminality. One area to look into will be how natural spaces are normally treated in Hawthorne's texts (e.g., "Young Goodman Brown") , in Puritan/Christian thinking, and in related genres. What is the purpose or effect of setting aside a space for emotions or communication? How does this relate to morals? Is freedom the same as sanctuary? Consider replacing the last two sentences (a counterfactual and a rhetorical question) with this exploration.
A task at the more technical level will be in integrating the quotations into your own writing. This helps smooth out flow and logic, and also helps assert your role as your reader's guide. A second area for improvement is in the writing mechanics. In particular, an overuse of commas creates many confusing moments. A thorough proofread will help clean these up and ensure your reader can focus on the ideas without having to decipher the syntax."
