"Your essay shows good control of the timeline and details in following this topic across a century. By incorporating major events and trends, you establish ethos as well as ensuring the reader can follow the historical narrative.

I want to check in on the final sentence, which runs into a few different problems. The first is in introducing a new detail at the last minute, which can throw off the reader's understanding and also destabilize the project and all the work leading up to that moment. Counter-arguments can enhance an essay when they are effectively responded to, and in this draft, you don't have time to do so. The alternative would be to dedicate a final body paragraph to this opposing view or interweave references across the body paragraphs. (A more compelling opposing view may be that the civil rights movement did not do enough for Black Americans--have you looked into this angle, as well?) I'm not sure this counter-argument, however, is even needed in an essay of this nature. Check you prompt and consider what the demands are. I encourage you to do some research, too, into how the notion of "reverse discrimination" has been used and who uses it in order to determine if it fits into your rhetorical approach. I also recommend a similar check-in on how to discuss the white women's suffrage movement in an essay on this particular topic."
