Aristotle was born in 384 BCE at Stagirus which was a Greek colony and seaport on the cost of Thrace His father Nichomachus was the court physician to King Amyntas of Macedonia At the age of 17 his guardian Proxenus sent him to Athens which at that time was the intellectual center of the world There he joined the Academy and studied under Plato Later on in he tutored Alexander the Great that later on became the world conqueror He tutored Alexander for five years from the ages 13 to 18 After Phillip died Alexander took over and began his world conquests Aristotle went back to Athens and their started his own school which was called Lyceum There he for the thirteen-years he devoted his time and energies When Alexander the Great died in 323 BCE The pro Macedonian government in Athens was overthrown and a general reaction occurred against anything Macedonian The charge of impiety was brought on to Aristotle Instead of facing charges he fled to Chalcis in Euboea There he died of a stomach illness in 322 BCEThe contribution was the writings that he left for us Theophrastus who succeeded Aristotle in leader ship of the school held his writings Then the books went to Neleuss and concealed them in a vault and moths and dampness damaged them Then a book collector by the name of Apellicon found the books in 100 BCE He also left us in a stump with physics for the next 2000 year The works that Aristotle left us fall under three heading They are dialogues facts and scientific treatment and systematic works I think that the dialogues are pretty interesting to me The only writing that we have to day written about popular nature is On the Polity of the AtheniansWhat I think of Aristotle is that he was a genius for his own time But he could have tested some things out for example when he
