The scariest moment of my life occurred in the summer of twenty-eleven I was a camp counselor at Camp Sombrero working a week overnight program in the middle of July Eighteen preteens and six staff members set out on an adventure of a life time On our fifth day together we set out to Eloy Arizona Now Eloy is literally the desert when you think Arizona you would be thinking of Eloy As we drove through this barren land with only a few cactus and scatted houses around a red curricular building held up by thick steal stilts with three massive white tubes coming out of the top of the main section came into view I knew we had reached our destination SkyVenture Arizona the only indoor wind tunnel around was where we ended up Today eighteen very excited preteens and six much less excited counselors would be flying through the air in the massive building As I signed the waver I felt as if Id signed away my entire life Wearily I climbed the stairs that led to the flight room Counting each step I hoped that the more I counted the longer the stairs would become making it impossible to get to the top Girls brushed by me as they scurried up the stairs taking them two by two they were ready to fly Again I counted hoping and praying that I never reach my destination Unfortunately my plan did not succeed I found myself being handed a flight suit that looked as if it truly belonged in Sheriff Joes tent city The colors were awful really who put pink and black strips together Unwillingly I slid the atrocious suit over my legs and zipped it up Only to find two lime green ear plugs shoved into my hands with instructions to put them in before I put on the provided helmet Once dressed six young girls along with one other counselor
