How can Lenas small dying plant represent her family In a Raisin inthe Sun by Lorraine Hansberry the Younger family is holding on to lifejust like the little plant Both the family and the plant need things tosurvive life Without these small things the plant and the family will notsurvive A family needs money and food like a plant needs food andsunlight The Youngers have a difficult time coming up with money Travisneeded some money for school and when he asked for it they had a hardtime coming up with the money for him When it comes time to buy food orsupplies they have a difficult time with money then as well Since theyhave a hard time with money almost all the time which means that they haveto work harder Most of the time Lena is cleaning the home When they runout of cleaning supplies they may not be able to get the supplies thatthey need That will lead to their apartment being dirty or messy They live in a small apartment with two bedrooms and one tiny windowthat is in the kitchen The Youngers share the bathroom with another familyas well Every now and again when Lena is cleaning she will clean thebathroom as well as her home Lena does most of the housework cooking andshe is in charge of the money as well On Saturdays the entire familycleans the apartment together When the apartment is clean they have timeto just sit down and talk about other things that are important to them Each time the Youngers have the chance they sit down and discussanything that has happened or sometimes they talk about the 10000 checkthat is supposed to be arriving soon Everyone in the family wants to usethe check for different things The check was originally coming for Lenashusbands life insurance Now
