When watching the Grand Pas de Quarte from the ballet Les Sylphides I see gender as being represented as something beautiful has poise and stamina The way the women are moving in the clip show how elegant and graceful they are It defines how a woman should act and by the way they move and how they carry themselves The movement of the ballet dancers were not explicit but very classy While watching the clip I thought of what I read from the Garafola Ballet It had stated that A well-composed ballet is a living picture of the passions It must be expressive in all its details and speak to the soul through the eyes Noverre 126 Thinking for a while as to how gender is not represented in another clip that I watched called Swan lake would be how they are not paying attention to the audience and acting a part A male dancer can also not pay attention to their audience and be in the moment of that part of dance movement Plenty of male and female dancers have the same type of poise when dancing to ballet Gender is not based on the way someone moves because it can be viewed by the audience similarily and something to be confused about Some of the greatest male dancers can do just the same as a female dancer Like Blasis stated in the Garafola Ballet that Ballet was still a male-identified form of expression Blasis 127 Even though ballet is looked at as being male-identified a women still has all the main criteria to do anything a man can do
