The stories I have read are The story of an Hour by Kate Chopin and The YellowWallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman Both of these stories have to do with unhappy wives and unhappy marriages The marriages in the stories are a lot alike they are also very different in many ways as well For example the similarity in the women of each story is they are both unhappy with their Marriages they both feel like they are trapped and need to be set free They also have medical Conditions although theyre not the same condition I think that in The Yellow Wallpaper john does not mean to harm his wife Jane that he just over loved her and she felt like she was being put in a room and bed to die Maybe if John would have let her out more and let her go see her family then Jane would have been happier with him john never really listened to Jane he just did what he thought was best and not what she felt was best He never listened to how she felt it always had to be his way because he was a doctor and he thought he new best The similarity in the two men is that they both make their wives very unhappy The differences in the women are that in The story of an hour Louise passes away from what the doctor had said to be heart disease of the joy that kills in the story The Yellow Wallpaper Jane does not die but her husband does From what I have read in The Story of An Hour I believe that Brently did not treat Louise very well although it does not say how he felt the marriage was or how he treated her this story is from Louises point of view and she believed
