When reading The Other Wes Moore there were so many things to consider The author of the book has the same name as a man in prison They come from the same place They actually were born only blocks apart However the author became successful and the other Wes Moore will spend the rest of his life in prison Two people of the same background but with different fates Some questions that were considered after reading the book were How did these men with so many similarities earlier in life end up in different places to what do I attribute the authors success and the prisoners failure and are their respective success and failure a result of internal and external factors I believe that the two men ended up in different places because of their parents family and own mindsets Their failure and success was dependent on both internal and external factors Wes Moore succeeded because he had people thar cared for him enough to make sure he was headed in the right direction at an early age and it was the complete opposite for the other Wes Moore In The Other Wes Moore the story of two men with the same name and background is told The author of the book Wes Moore grew up in Baltimore He lived with his mother father and two sisters Later on his father died from a misdiagnosis He was a good kid until he got a little older His grades began to drop and he began to run into trouble on the streets His mother was the type of mother that cared for her children and cared enough about where they would end up to do something about it After one phone call she rcieved from his principal she sent Wes off to military school Wes hated the school and after 4 days he tried to escape After that didnt work he began
