Before technology was used in everyday life by kids teens and adults there were only two forms of bullying physical and emotional In the twenty first century technology has brought cyberbullying upon us Cyber bullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature Cyber bullies can be anonymous or they may present who they are In most cases cyber bullies are anonymous making it harder to find who it is Cyber bullying occurs at all ages from elementary school through college Each level of education deals with cyber bullies differently Elementary school tattle talt The simple way to be the elementary school bully used to be to leave one student out when inviting your whole class except one to a birthday party Middle School creates more cliques and rumors Both of those lead to bullying worse than elementary school especially cyber bullies Middle School students usually begin creating Facebook profiles Twitter accounts and the newest phenomena is askfm Facebook allows cyber bullies to make fun of photos and statuses Twitter allows cyber bullies to reply to tweets and say rude things With both Twitter and Facebook kids can create fake profiles to bully another student or students Askfm is a website that has allowed cyber bullies to anonymously say crude things to other students Students who are being bullied dont normally tell an adult because they no longer want to be the tattle tale student According to Jan Hoffman of the New York Times one in five middle-school students had been affected
