During World War II there were many things that were going on in theworld The War was taken to a place where people never would have expected it togo but sadly it was and many lives that should not have been takenwere Pearl Harbor is a small island off the coast or Hawaii that stillhad many people living there including residents and tourists PearlHarbor was a popular tourist attraction island because it was slightlyisolated from the rest of Hawaii territory So many lives were takenthat should not have been and could have been prevented Because so manylives were physically taken that day there were even more that werementally and emotionally taken The people that lived there and hadsadly lost the lives of the people that that they knew close and heldclose to their heart were taken so easily The Japanese took more thanjust the lives of the people that day they took the peace of mind thatthe government and army had about protecting the people and showed themup Pearl Harbor affected the people of the United States because of theevents prior to the attack the attack itself and the lives of thepeople after the attackThe events that lead up to the attack on Pearl Harbor made it clear tothe Army and government that there was going to be an attack Eventhough Japan sent signs and signals that they were going to attack andthere was going to be a War the Unites States did not pick them up TheJapanese sent a warning to Washington but the message was deliveredlate and the attack had already begun Also due to the fact thatscanning and radar technology was sp new when planes showed up on themthey were ignored The radar picked up and noticed some planes coming inbut they were assumed to be American B-17s flight that was due in C5 Japan made alliances with other countries in case they were to ever goto war with the United States
