The French and Indian War has been said to be a direct trigger into the American Revolution for independence Also called the Seven Years War the French and Indian War was a conflict between Great Britain and France who both strongly believed they inhabited the Ohio River Valley After nine years of fighting of dispute over who owned what Great Britain finally took victory and won over the land Although what was next to come was a completely surprise to the Mother Country After the war the colonies were forced to pay Britains debt which pushed the colonies beyond the limits and lead them into the Revolutionary War Two websites were able to describe the French and Indian war and the events that occurred during that time spanThe first website I was able to find about the French and Indian War was French and Indian WarSeven YearsWar 1754-63 This website was able to elaborate on the events that occurred during the years of 1754-1763 The article starts off with an outline of what the French and Indian War was how the war ended and how the colonists reacted to the war The French and Indian War was a fight over North America land The war began in 1754 when the British had a strong temptation to own New France The thirteen colonies had already been settled and New France was a very large span of area that stretched from Louisiana all the way to the Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes of Canada Great Britain just had to own this land since they already succeeded in the colonies The reason for all the confusion of who owned the Ohio River Valley was due to the fact that France came onto the territory from the upper part while the British would come in from the southern part of the area France set up forts around the district in an effort to try and strengthen their claim
