We all know the name Batman and even might know a few tales or two but The Dark Knight goes further into the complexity of the characters in a way we all can relate Batman is no longer just a man in a mask he has a life outside the suit with relationships and love and he deals with dilemmas just like us The movie The Dark Knight was release in 2008 and was directed by Christopher Nolan The comic-book legend Batman was played by Christian Bale and the villain The Joker was played by Heath Ledger Roger Ebert says The Dark Knight is not a simplistic tale of good and evil Batman is good yes The Joker is evil yes But Batman poses a more complex puzzle than usual The citizens of Gotham City are in an uproar calling him a vigilante and blaming him for the deaths of policemen and others And The Joker is more than a villain Hes a Mephistopheles whose actions are fiendishly designed to pose moral dilemmas for his enemies rogerebrtcom One important character that I feel Ebert failed to mention much of was Harvey Dent Aaron Eckhart who plays the district attorney that is the citys white light Unlike Batman and The Joker Harvey Dent was unmasked he didnt hind his face from his enemies or his lover and friends Dent meant change Dent was the rise of the city taking their charge over the scum of Gotham City Harvey Dent plays an important role it the film He looks at Batman as a hero of someone stepping up and taking charge while at the same time Batman looks at him in the same way He is someone that can take him place Its ironic that the character actually mentions in the movie how he thinks Batman doesnt want to play that
