The Vatican should take responsibility for the crimes brought against them There are only two ways that are followed internationally for a person to be convicted of a criminal offense Firstly they need to be the individual or personal criminal responsible and secondly they must be one whom is either superior or in command of responsibility Therefore any act followed under command responsibility is usually under International Humanitarian Law- not protecting a human right to life Thus Pope Benedict XVI and Cardinal Ratzinger should have to face the same charges as any other Superior individual displaying a group full of wrong doings They should face the fact that the ICCs Elements of Crimes command responsibility is coming their way and it should be shoved in their faces as well First off Pope Benedict XVI must face consequences to the wrong doings in his religiouscatholic groups and churches The main reason is to protect the children Many priests and individuals of the church were committing acts that went against church law and nationalinternational law As a superior power among the people it was his duty to protect those who deserve the right to be part of the church for following basic rules and doing nothing wrong Instead he chose as a superior power to not convict the ones breaking the law and rules but instead to jeopardize his name He turned down his command of responsibility the first time a child was molested and chose that his church official was not turned into the police He had failed his role in protecting his people by adjusting and modifying the rules of what he felt was right to do Benedict had much knowledge to what was going on prior to and after the acts took place In any other circumstance as a human being of lower power- knowledge of an act of crime and failure to
