Todays Social Choices Forges Tomorrows Future Abandoning or discarding newborns racial diversity and the AIDS virus are I believe are three major social issues that we need to deal with in todays society The number of newborns abandoned or discarded has increased within the past years We hear about it on TV and read about it in newspapers It is illegal to leave a baby to die and I believe it is unethical to ignore your responsibilities to your child and take the easy way out Racial diversity is an issue that we have been dealing with for a long time We have made some significant progresses but it is not enough We are still seeing a thin line that is segregating the different races and we need to solve that problem HIV is another issue that has been around for a while It is a health threat nowadays and irresponsible humans can kill the human species Women Charged With Abandoning Baby New Born Girl Found in Garbage These are just two of the many typical headlines in the newspapers in todays society that we see and forget in seconds We simply do not notice them anymore because it is too common I believe abandoning and discarding newborns is a major social issue that worsens each day They are stuffed in trash bins dropped in toilets dumped in flower beds an in ditches Marjie Lundstrom wrote in an article in The Sacramento Bee They are tossed out of windows shoved down storm sewers stuffed in duffel bags and in one case tucked away on a grocery store shelf One major reason I believe why a mother would want to abandon or even kill a newborn is because it is an unwanted child It is easy to see for me that a teenage mother would be afraid to tell a parent and also face the overwhelming responsibilities It is understandable why she would resort to
