I am writing today in concern of the transportation available to students at Assumption College I am currently a first year student This letter serves to address different aspects of transportation at Assumption College currently and how things could be changed Transportation for first year students is lacking and if a new public transportation system was implemented or freshmen were allowed cars it would reduce much of the stress first year students have As a first year student not from the area I am constantly encouraged to go off campus and explore the Worcester area However the lack of transportation restricts me from doing this It is nearly impossible to leave when needed Assumption College sits in a suburban area inside the city of Worcester One would think with a city right around the corner there would be no issue regarding transportation I have realized otherwise With no drug stores in the area many students are finding it more and more difficult to pick up prescriptions on time I am currently on daily anxiety medication which needs to be picked up at the pharmacy monthly The closest drug store is three miles away and with winter right around the corner the convenience of walking places is out of the picture With the first academic semester coming to a close I have found myself with limited options and opportunities because of the limited transportation provided by the institution The only way to get off campus is a bus This bus runs daily and makes stops at WPI Clark Worcester Public Library Union Station and Holy Cross I was once told if I took this bus I would be taken to the Worcester Public Library which I was told was in relative walking distance to CVS Upon arrival at the WPL I looked to my left and to my right and all that was to be seen was a dreary cement building Here I am in
