There are many aspects of childhood that are no longer a part of my life that I miss For example I miss having naptime in school or not having lengthy projects and homework assignments I also miss the naivety that only a child can possess I miss not being aware of all the troubles and hardships in the world or having to worry about anything beyond the next few hours of my life I miss the ability to trust that we were all born with These last three are all qualities that few people possess beyond the point of childhood Above all however I miss the pure simplicity of life that belongs to children For instance a child never has to worry about their activities for the next several days or what they will be involved in A child also is never concerned with anyone elses opinion of them and is truly able to focus on only what they truly desire and believe is right All of these aspects are in strong opposition to the role of the modern American high school student This role is usually trademarked by a busy fast-paced life style filled with concern for the past present and future These students are generally bogged down with homework from English papers to geometry worksheets Outside of schoolwork students busy themselves with a range of extracurricular activities including sports music and academics They become buried in schoolwork and extracurricular activities causing a majority of them to be quite stressed Resulting from this students commonly lose focus and are unable to truly be still and know The ability to relax is lost as we grow older This is why I miss the pure simplicity of childhood above all other aspects
