When someone says the word Psychopath most commonly peopleassociate the term with criminals such as Ted Bundy Jack the Ripperor Jeffery Dahmer Although famous for being the syndrome that drivesmany criminals to commit crime the reality is very few people whosuffer from this disorder end up committing serious offences In fact itis estimated that one in every 100 people is a psychopath or 3 of menand 1 of woman So who exactly are psychopaths Psychopaths can be anybody In factmost people know or have interacted with someone who is psychoticPeople who suffer from psychosis tend to be charming and manipulativethey are most times of average to above average intelligence Howeverthe most common trait of a psychopath is that they dont experienceemotions in the same way that most people do they seem to lack suchemotions as guilt remorse and empathy People who are psychotic often demonstrate impulsive behaviour withpoor control they tend to lack responsibility and thrive forexcitement It is unlikely that a psychopath would take the time toweight out the pros cons and consequences of a given action Insteadone might take action simply because they wanted to or because theywere looking to achieve a level of satisfaction People who are deemedpsychotic often have a history or early behavioural problems and tend toshow signs of adult antisocial behaviour As children those suffering from psychosis will often find themselvesbeing unmotivated by punishment and taking part in reckless or evendangerous activities They are prone to setting fires acting cruelly toanimals bullying and showing no regards towards the feelings ofothers Both children and adults suffering from psychosis often show adisregard towards social norms they are driven by personal gain andwill take whatever measures they think are necessary to get what theywant At this time there is no cure or real treatment for psychopathy asthere are no medications that can instil the human emotions that theylack A lot
