As she stares her face down in the mirror she notices that she does not resemble her mother or her father The question poses in her head as to why she looks different from everybody else She wanders around with an unexplainable look on her face and her parents began to notice They began to question their daughter when she finally asks the question Why do I not look like you mom or you dad Her parents have a puzzled look that comes across their face because they do not know where to begin Then the conversation begins that they knew would happen one day Adoption is a process that occurs very often over the United States It can began from adopting a child as a new born to adopting a child that is of age When babies say Mama or Dada usually people rejoice and the parents are overjoyed However we rarely think about what happens when an older child is involved and it is their first time meeting their new parents Mixed feelings are involved because though the adopted family is excited the child might be longing to see their biological family So should the child be able to see them or should they not have that right offered to them Regardless of how one reasons or what they feel about the situation the child should be given the opportunity to make the choice of whether they would like to see their biological family In this paper I will define adoption give statistics and inform you of adoption rights Having a friend that was adopted at an early age opened up my eyes and I began to wander have she ever longed to meet her parents There comes a time when an adopted child I think should have the right to know and to meet their biological family if they
