An argument is one type of academic writing In an argument essay the writer needs evidence to support their position on a particular subject Evidence is used to persuade reader to the position or claims given by the writer A counterargument is usually an opinion of someone else or another information source Understanding AppealA well-written essay will pay attention to the age interests and education level of the reader Then there are three appeals of arguments logical logos ethical ethos and emotional pathos The best essays include all three appeals In logical appeal the writer uses clear claims and strong evidence If the writer has knowledge about the subject and supports the main idea with good evidence the essay will be understandable and strong For example if somebody cheats on a test at school the writer needs a picture a witness or other convincing proof of their claim The ethical appeal is the moral part where writers develop trust with the reader by providing reliable information about the subject An example of an ethical appeal is a patient who recommends a medicine that made them well This would help others trust that persons beliefs about the cure The emotional appeal helps the writer to connect with reader Writers have tools such as fear sadness and kindness to build emotional appeal with the readers An emotional appeal for getting someone to buy a certain automobile would be to put a beautiful woman standing next to it holding her darling poodle with the wind blowing her long hair This picture will appeal to buyers emotionsA Highly Successful SchoolFor the highly successful school we need good faculty curriculum and facilities When most people think of their favorite elementary school teacher they think that good education or experience is enough However my opinion is that people have education Just because they have the knowledge it does not mean that they can teach Experience can help people to
