Buildings are typically designed and constructed in the shape of a rectangular prism Though the rectangular prism is the most standard structure of a building there are some buildings that question this traditional structure Most of the buildings that question this traditional structure are not usually condominium buildings Condominium buildings may vary in their internal use of the building for example some have features that others do not such as a pool and a fitness room but most condominium buildings are structurally standard rectangular prisms Even though there may be moderate differences when comparing condominium buildings one aspect is usually common throughout that is that most condominium suites are linear Its as if all builders and architects have robotically turned to the rectangular prism shape when designing and constructing these buildings My paper focuses on a condominium building that has questioned what is normal when creating a residential condominium building The condominium building that I have chosen to write my paper on has defied the norms of architectural design in Mississauga Ontario I have chosen the Marilyn Monroe Tower in Mississauga Ontario as my example of Post Conventional theory in architectural design The Marilyn Monroe Tower is a condominium building that is curvy instead of linear in shape and does not possess any rigid corners on the outside of the building This means that each suite is curved like a half moon in shape The Marilyn Monroe Tower has questioned the normal architectural structure of condominium buildings by being structured in a way that can be compared to the shape of a womans body rather than a rectangular prism Another key part of the Post Conventionalist Theory is that it allows for playfulness and blurred boundaries This building incorporates playfulness through architecture because instead of creating a typical rectangular prism structure this building used a more circular approach The curves that this building possesses are questioning boundaries with
