Todays youth has gradually become more and more violent This information is very alarming Males and now even more females lashing out fighting swearing and involved in gangs Starting with school yard fights in grade school and sometimes ending with gang violence and jail time this is a growing problem in our nation Where does it start How do we know that what goes on in the household isnt starting this trend of violence in youth today Could that unrealistic cartoon violence be the start of future jail time and JPOs Studies show that it is mixture of all of these things movies music social acceptance and family problems that are causing violent tendencies in youth todayThe simple things that youth are allowed to do are causing a growing problem The music that is produced is violent and aggressive in nature the movies are full of violence abuse and crime families are becoming more and more dysfunctional and violence is becoming acceptable as a means of getting where you need to get in life People say there are no facts to prove these statements and that this violence and aggression is just a phase Potential murderers gang members drug dealers arsons thieves and rapists are just a few examples of what this phase becomes if left alone The growing of violence in media shown in the form of music televisionmovies peers and family is causing a growth of violent tendencies in youth todayOne of the many ways todays youth is getting their ideas and trends from is music Music has to be the most powerful form of media out there In a study taken of 100 students on what they would take to a deserted island eighty-two percent said they would take music over anything elseChristenson 1 It affects not only our conscious state of mind but our subconscious as well Music influences most everything we do and we do not even realize it
