Hypertrichosis also known as a werewolf syndrome is a trait ofexcessive hair growth on the human body The 1st case of this syndromewas in 1648 About 100 people have it today Supatra Sasuphan 11 yearsold has an abnormality in two families in Mexico and China One pieceof a chromosome added into a different chromosome and created a new genecalled SOX3 This can be a very embarrassing syndrome since it is avisible physical syndrome and affects your appearance This happenedbecause a chromosome is usually in an X shape of DNA with around 46cells in ever chromosome There was a chromosome abnormality in the twofamilies when a piece of one chromosome broke off and attached its selfto the other chromosome in the other family This made the gene SOX3Genes define what the persons appearance and functions are and by thesetwo chromosomes some how combining pieces of them selfs it has createdhair growth all over or sometimes just in spots of the body usuallywhere hair isnt supposed to grow that long or as some people sayhairyIn this article it made me realize how serious health problems can beand how they may affect your whole life in a blink of an eye If I hadthis it would affect me and my family with the reactions and looks wewould get from others and from that I probably would not have anyfriends and would go into depression This is such an amazing articlebecause this 11 year old girl Supatra Sasuphan has been living her lifewith this syndrome and is going strong I dont think I would be able todo this but in the caption above the article it says she has oncesilenced the people who once teased her which takes a lot of effort andstrength not mentally but physically This article reminds me of somemovies how the hairy beast or something is judged by how scary he looksand how he comes off to be but in the ending he is strong
