I have been a student at CCSU USP program for about three weeks now and this week I have learned new things about myself academically and personally This week I learned that I work better with support and encouragement from others the importance of keeping your grades up and GPA and lastly that having a set schedule and study plan is important in my success at collegeWhen I first started CCSU USP program my biggest fear was not having my parents by my side every day for support I didnt know that there were professors in college that really care about a student success and progress I felt this way because professor go through hundreds of student a year why should they care about one person I have realized that in some cases that is false This week I have had several counselors and professors support me with improving my grades and making sure I make it through the program successfully For example Professor Ball always makes sure that thing are going well for me and always willing to lead a helping hand plus my math teacher Mr Tim gave me another chance to do my quiz over to improve my grade which was a considerate gesture that most professor dont do in collegeFurther in the week here at CCSU I learned the importance of a college grade from what I have heard a college grade is completely different than a high school grade In high school when I received Cs in multiple classes that was considered passing but Professor Ball explained that in college a GPA is not based on grades only but class credit hours too so the grading system is weighed different meaning if I receive multiple Cs in college I would be on academic probation Which would put me at risk for losing financial andor kicked out of school and extremely bad on my college transcriptAt the end of my third
