Be the change you want to see by Mahatma Gandhi has been engraved in my heart since I was a young child I didnt really understand the meaning but it had two words that I knew were powerful change and world While many kids at that age were told to always tell the truth no matter what my parents taught me to say a lie if it meant saving someones life My parents are my true inspiration in life my idols my heroes my motivation and my supporters While the prompt asks only for one person who has made an impact on my life I cant choose between two that have always sacrificed everything they have in order to give the world to me How can I choose one eye when i need both to see My parents have always worked hard to give me my brother and sister everything that they did not have when they were growing up My father grew up in a very small village in India it was so small that they did not have electricity or running water There was only one school in the whole village with one teacher for all grade levels With very little English that he was taught in his ten years of school he went to college a five mile walk to college every day His family did not have much money since his father was a small farmer He at one point in his life did not have shoes on his feet to walk in so he walked bare foot to spend the money he had on books and supplies for school His poverty had motivated him to be the best that he can be he graduated first in both his class and in his major He also went on to get PhD in Geology being the first not only in his family but in his village to go to college He
