A nation consisting of a population from various cultural backgrounds the United States is truly a melting pot Portrayed to be the land of the free and great opportunity it is no wonder that people from all around the globe work so hard to pursue and seek out a better way of life in this great country Unfortunately not everyone that is currently residing in the US although recognized as a hard working class of individuals are granted such benefits of living in the US have to offer There are those that enter this country within guidelines and there are those that by illegal means have successfully made their way into US society This paper will discuss impacts and influences of immigration in its legal and illegal form of existence and propose a new reform arrangement of points to consider these points will distinguish which have potential to remain in the US and which should be returned to their country of origin In efforts to illegally cross from the southern US borders into Texas from Mexico thousands of dollars or pesos are invested as payment to someone or a group of people to act as a guide to cross a hot and dangerous desert These guides better known as cayotes accompany and lead these prospected immigrants for miles traveling on foot with little or no food Besides the dangerous animals and extreme desert temperatures the possibility of getting caught by the authorities remains throughout the entire journey An alternate method known to illegally enter the United States is by way of hiding every person in every compartment of a vehicle that would possibly fit a human body Babies in glove compartments and trucks of cars tightly packed like a sardine can with full grown men and women a common hiding place among many of the usual findings of a border patrol gate check stop Upon getting caught those found illegally crossing or contribute to aiding
