Tuition at Yale this academic year is 40500 Room and board isexpected to cost another 12200 So the question is why am I atHillsborough Community College Is there a financial struggle Or did Ireceive a scholarship to attend a community college Well none of thosequestions actually answer why Im at HCC HCC gave me the opportunity tobe accepted in a program where I wasnt a number but an actual studentHCC also allowed me to save money and gain the same general education ifcan receive at any University HCC gives me the right development and agood first step to life and my education My original plan was to follow my sisters steps and become a USFBull but things dont always go your way I guess you can say GOD hadanother plan for me I graduated from high school with a 50 gpaexpecting to be accepted in any university with scholarships andacceptance due to my good grades and my high school dull enrollment Butthats not what happened I applied to only two colleges because Icouldnt see myself anywhere else besides Tampa I received a defermentfrom USF telling me my admission wasnt accepted to re-apply So I gaveup and didnt take that extra step I was told by many people about theHonors program at HCC People stated how they offered and how it helpedbuild you up strongly in education The Honors Program seemed like whereI really belonged so I applied and it brought me to decide to come toHCC and not re-apply to USF Knowing I would be in small classes whereteachers know my name and my face and not know me by my student numberallowed me to feel accepted and have a good feeling where I knew thatpeople actually want to see me succeed So with no doubt in mind Ifinally decided HCC was where my first two years of college was going tobe atAfter knowing why I was gearing towards HCC I had to compare and
