Why Science and Scripture Will Never Be Reconciled

This paper argues that the modern differences between science and religion, despite efforts by theists and philosophers, are irreconcilable. The student notes, however, that religion fulfills a psychological need, such that its institutions will continue to exist even as science develops contrary to biblical stories.

"As your reader, I appreciate your direct and clear approach as you present and then respond directly to each point. This allows your audience to follow the various ideas and details that make up each part of the argument. The final judgment in the last paragraph follows the paper's position and ideas; can you forecast that those conclusions are part of the paper's purpose earlier in the paper?

The occasional placement of transitional phrasing at the end of paragraphs may wrongfoot the reader (as it did me); especially because these are often combined with topic sentence information and phrasing, I recommend shifting those down to the next paragraph (the current last sentence of the third paragraph is one example of this). Your overall diction strikes a good balance in creating an objective discussion; do keep an eye out for opportunities to keep refining word choice for precision and ethos (e.g., "this argument is obsolete")."
