A lot of people tend to make assumptions about others Its like judging a book by its cover Assumptions are made about everyone these days it doesnt matter if youre black or white or mixed People tend to judge others before they judge them selfs Assumptions are a natural activity for other people Most of us make judgements about people based on how they look and dress We should all get to know others before deciding who they are and what they are aboutEveryone has a good and a bad side to them But that shouldnt mean that we have a right to say who they are based on what we know and believe The reasons why we make assumptions are because we have a desire to explain things so they fit within our personal view of life Assumptions can destroy relationships and even cause war Like for example the second World War fighting against a dictator An assumption is an idea that we believe is true Assumptions can be annoying hurtful painful and destructive They prevent us from seeing the realty in front of usAfter You My Dear Alphones is story I read and also watched a movie called the Blind Side Both the movie and the book talked about racism There were a lot of stereotypes in both stories One scene from the movie that put a light on racism was when Mike walked up to two kids at the park and the kids run away People tend to carry stereotypes about other races some of these may suggest that one race is intellectually inferior to another There was one point when Mike wrote an English paper in order to get a scholarship and the English teacher didnt what he to pass but he eventually passed and managed to get a scholarship to post-secondary The lesion of these two stories is for us not to judge others before you get to know
