People always ask me What do you plan on doing after High School My response is always I Am going to become a dental hygienist And I say that statement with confidence A Dental Hygienst is a licensed dental professional who specializes in preventive oral health That means they clean a lot of yucky teeth however dental hygienist are also able to perform other jobs like giving local anesthesia to patients taking x-rays for the dentist to see and giving advice on how to prevent negative oral health issues On other hand a dental higienst is like an assistant to a dentist One reason I have so much ambitin about becoming a dental hygienist is because since I could remember I have always had a fascination with teeth and keeping them healthy Combined with the fact I love bringing happiness to others brought me to the conclusion that I wanted to become a dental hygienist So I looked into some of the requirement of becoming one and found out that most states require dental hygienist to attend some type of dental school how long you will have depends on what level of education you plan on persuing rangeing from a certificate to a masters degree However in most states they recommend you het atleast an associates degree You also have to be 18 years of age and have obtained your high school diploma or GED already prior Clinical are also required by law in most states to be completed before you may practice and become a certified dental hygienist Clinicals is like doing supervised work under a instructor All doctors and health professional have to take clinicals before they my be accredited by the state in which they choose to practice in The money aspect of becoming a dental hygienist is also
