Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve 250-660 words Growing up inside the Capital Beltway I was lucky to attend a top public high school that was both racially and socioeconomically diverse As an International Baccalaureate Diploma student my classes were filled with students from all over the world Our cultural differences spawned fascinating discussions on topics ranging from ethics to feminism terrorism to the worldwide economic crash of 2008 Despite my high schools numerous advantages its large class sizes inhibited an open give-and-take between teachers and students and this was something I hoped to change as I applied to colleges during the fall of my senior year Ultimately this overriding goal to avoid large lecture hall classes led me to apply exclusively to small liberal arts colleges that offer small discussion-based classes and open dialogues with professors After receiving numerous acceptance letters and significant financial incentives from many colleges I settled on Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut In many ways Trinity College has exceeded my expectations in terms of academic stimulation The college has provided me the small discussion based classes and student-teacher relationships that I craved in high school My first-year seminar Color and Money Race and Social Class inspired very open and often heated discussions regarding race and socioeconomic relations on campus and beyond My ethics professor pushed me to question my own ethical principles and to explore the complexity of what it means to be a good person I benefited most crucially from the strong student-professor relationships that Trinity fosters when I received extra help from my Comparative Politics professor and my meeting with him offered me insights into how to maximize my performance in all of my classes Although Trinity has provided me these advantages I wish to be part of a more diverse school that is better integrated
