Being in a natural disaster is a fearsome thing but if you have a planned ahead the shock wont be as great Having a plan is important for many reasons Saving valuables may seem minor but some things are very hard to live without You will definitely need something to communicate with and some clothing Natural disasters occur quickly so keeping valuables in a safe box is a very good idea Also pictures from special moments in your life are something some people cant live without You should also keep important documents like your homes contract and your savings bond information just in case anyone questions you A credit card and some cash are also very vital for buying necessities that you couldnt grab before you left so always keep there where you can find themHaving an evacuation plan is a very important part of planning for a natural disaster Obviously everyone cant leave on the same road because that would create major traffic problems so a map with specific routes would be very helpful You also need to make sure you have a set destination either to a family or friends house Natural disasters come fast so there is no time for making last minute plans Also depending on the type of natural disaster it can change its course so when you are on your way to your destination make sure you are watching the weather and looking for possible back up routes Having a plan can also save many lives To ensure a safe evacuation everyone in the community must be on the same page because no one and I mean no one deserves to lose their life Animals should also be saved because you can use them after the disaster to sniff out trapped people Cats are also great companions if you lose a loved one to the natural disaster Many material things will not be able to be saved
