Emily's feedback:
"Your voice comes through very clearly throughout your whole essay, and there is no doubt about your stance on this topic. A good way to strengthen your argument further would be to include the viewpoint of the other side. Other people might argue that these are not negative/stereotypical portrayals of women, just simply accurate. This is an excellent point to refute with your sources, with quotes or statistics on the negative impact the shows can have on women of any age. Also, are there any television shows or commercials that portray women in a very positive light, or are least trying to? If so, are these truly beneficial for women, or are there still issues with them? Some sources that discuss those types of shows or commercials would be helpful too. You have a pretty strong paper as it is right now, but also including the other side of the argument shows that you have really done your research and are well versed on the topic. Another idea to consider: How do we love the problem of negative representation of women? This can also be a question you introduce in your conclusion to wrap up your paper and bring in a new idea."
