In life we encounter times where we chose to give up when things go wrong instead of pushing through and discovering how close we are to greatness Our hopes are set so high that the second we fail we turn the other way and never look back We all want to do our best and failing is something no one wants to encounter People are their own worst enemies and the only thing holding them back from greatness is themselves It was the start of my freshman year and I was an extremely shy girl but somehow my friends had convinced me that Tennis was a good idea I was never good at sports and I practically begged them to let me switch out before we even started practice Day one of practice I had never picked up a tennis ball nevertheless hit one with a tennis racket Coach lined up the entire freshman team in a row to do a basic forehand drill I was completely nervous as I watched every other player effortlessly hit their strokes like it was nothing new Before long it was my turn As I stepped up in front of everyone I felt their eyes digging into the back of my skull judging me Coach Norwood lightly tossed the ball over for me to hit Instinctively I picked up my racket but being so shaky and nervous I completely missed tripped and fell flat on my face I was so embarrassed and everyone including Coach Norwood was laughing uncontrollably Stepping to the side of the court I tried to keep myself from crying I told myself from that day on I would never pick up a racket again The next day I didnt show up to tennis practice Right after school I called my dad to pick me up and as soon as he pulled up I threw my things inside his truck and sat down without saying
