More About Whitney
Hello! I'm a digital marketer by day and freelance editor by night (and early morning...and lunchtime...and weekends). I studied strategic communication and marketing during my undergrad career in North Carolina, and in 2017, I completed my master's degree in human behavior.
What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?
Before I started working in digital marketing, I was a college admission counselor. I read a LOT of admission essays during my four years in that role, and I love helping prospective college students learn how to put their best foot forward. For similar reasons, I also love working on resumes, cover letters and CVs, but I enjoy editing of all shapes and kinds. One of my favorite things to do is help writers cut down their word counts - if you've written too much and aren't sure how to condense your work, I'm your girl!
In what subject areas are you an expert?
Most of my studies have been in the humanities, but I consider myself a lifelong learner - I really enjoy reading about topics I haven't explored before, and I'm constantly finding new things that I want to learn more about. My graduate studies were in psychology and thanatology, so I'm especially familiar with those areas and with APA format. I'm also a stickler for AP style from my days as a college newspaper editor, and I have a love for space history and aeronautics that started during my internship at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum!
What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?
I work full-time at a digital marketing agency that's focused on higher education marketing and market research (which I LOVE), and I recently moved to Massachusetts, so I spend a lot of time exploring my new home! I also love to read - one of my favorite activities is curling up by the fire with a good book and a cup of tea on a gloomy day.

Client Feedback and Praise
Thank you for your professional editing and encouragement!
Gave me great pointers to where the weakest parts of the essay were.
Thanks for taking time to review! I feel much better now!
Nice editing! Comments are quite useful. The use of vocabulary more appropriate and effective. The structures of sentences vary to improve the diversity of language of my essay.
Thank you very much for the helpful feedback. You didn't leave basic feedback, but actually provided mye with content I could improve on. I greatly appreciate your help!
