More About Jessica
I've been writing all my life, and to me, the mastery of words is a labor of love. Some of my work has been published in print and online, including eHow.com, and I blog regularly. I'm a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, where my concentrations were writing, research, and social justice. Academic writing is a particular favorite of mine; in addition to my own work at university, I helped to edit and polish the work of other students who struggled with writing, especially those whose first language was not English. I found that experience very fulfilling and knew that I wanted to continue doing it in a professional capacity—that's when I found Kibin! My experience now includes successfully editing work from the undergraduate through doctorate levels, and I love the opportunity to help your words shine.
What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?
I enjoy editing a wide range of document types. I like variety, and one of the biggest perks of editing as a profession is getting to read about many different topics in many different voices. I do love a juicy humanities essay or reflection paper, but I also have a strong affinity for technical papers, such as medical and scientific reports.
In what subject areas are you an expert?
My areas of study have been sociology, political science, psychology, history, and other areas within the social sciences, as well as English and creative writing. I was also trained and worked as a medical transcriptionist/medical language specialist for several years, so I'm very familiar with medical language/terminology.
What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?
I'm a digital nomad with my home base on the Hawaiian island of Maui, which means lots of beach time! I do lots of reading and writing, drinking matcha lattes, and deep-diving into my interests, which include everything from radical politics to psychology, and from technology and science to spirituality. I'm a music lover who dabbles in piano and vocals, and I'm also a huge foodie who loves to cook and dine. Taking long walks and getting immersed in the natural world helps me clear my head and get grounded, and I also enjoy meditation and practical spirituality.

Client Feedback and Praise
I am a bit picky in the selection of suggestions provided by editors nowadays. So, even though a third of the suggestions were ignored on this occasion, the other two thirds have helped a lot to strengthen the writing and give it a bit of umph. For this, I appreciate the help provided by this editor. Thanks.
