More About Stephanie
The ability to write has been one of the keys to success in my career, both in higher education and in the corporate world. No matter the type of writing—reports, articles, everyday email communication, or website text—the ability to effectively communicate is a differentiator. Across the years, I’ve mentored undergraduate and graduate students, as well as colleagues, always encouraging them to approach writing with confidence and hard work. My mantra has been that there is NEVER a first and only draft of ANY good writing. And you obviously know this because you’ve contacted Kibin’s editing team for another ‘set of eyes’ on your work.
What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?
I enjoy working with dissertations, APA-style journal articles, academic papers, essays (especially admission essays for college, graduate school, or medical school), and resumes and cover letters (a good part of my experience has been in university career centers).
In what subject areas are you an expert?
I studied literature and writing as an undergraduate student. Higher education administration was the focus of my graduate degrees (MA and PhD). I have several years of experience working with assessment, including data analysis and implementation of educational technology. I’ve also had a full spectrum of experience in career-related work—from resumes and cover letters to career exploration. I am a true believer in life-long learning!
What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?
I love to cook for family and friends, walk my very energetic Daschund, fish, spend time at the beach, and read (the combo of reading and the beach—even better!).
