More About Alexandra
I'm a freelance editor, writer, and translator as well as an EFL (English as a foreign language) teacher. The written word is a passion for me, so I studied English at university and continue to seek ways to immerse myself in language, learn how to use it, and help others employ it effectively, too.
What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?
Hmm... I like all documents, but I particularly like documents that talk about something new for me (re: math, the history of canned fish, knock-knock jokes, and so forth). I also really like documents that talk about things I do know about because they give me a chance to look at the topic from a different perspective.
In what subject areas are you an expert?
My principle strengths are literature, film, foreign languages, creative writing, history, and philosophy, but I'm reasonably well-versed in media & communications, art/art history, sociology, and other humanities-related topics. That said, my brother is a rocket scientist (I swear), and I spent my high school and university years revising his science and math essays, which ought to be worth something (or at least I hope so). I also have several years of experience working as a writing tutor with ESL and international students, so I am very familiar with the issues these writers often face.
What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?
Eat far too much pasta (if there is such a thing). Besides consuming pasta, I do a lot of shouting in Italian, and some occasional shouting in English. When I'm not shouting or eating - I usually refrain from doing both at the same time - I can be found reading, writing, making a hapless mess in the kitchen/beadily eyeing the contents of my oven, and crooning along with Edith Piaf in an attempt to reproduce that distinctively French uvular trill.

Client Feedback and Praise
Thank youn so much for the feedback and advice!
So coincident that you happen to be an Emory alumna. The 150-word essay is too short to clearly express my idea, but you still make it concise.
Thank you so much for your help. Your edits greatly improved the clarity of the arguments and the overall quality of the paper.
