As an editor, regardless of the type of edit I'm doing, I strive to help you look as good as possible and help you grow and improve. I'm a fan of positive feedback and positive reinforcement, though I am not afraid to let you know where you can improve. I am a diligent and comprehensive editor and writer.
I love fiction: supernatural, horror, science, general. I love the freedom and creativity it requires. Think of Stephen King. If I could edit for Stephen King, I'd lose my mind. And then I'd edit his work. And love it.
I'm proficient with technical documentation: software development documents, test plans and scripts, continuity of operations, etc.
I'm great with academic papers, particularly APA style, though I am knowledgeable in Chicago and MLA. I also have some experience with Harvard and ASA.
Miscellaneous office communications: resumes, awards packages, employee appraisals, particularly those used by federal government agencies (e.g. Department of the Air Force, Department of Defense, and Defense Information Systems Agency).
I'm a great choice for technical documentation because I've written so much of it in my information technology career (database developer, database security administrator, *Nix shell script writer, Air Force computer programming course instructor, test script developer, and test plan writer).
I have a lot of experience editing (everything from proofreading to substantive editing) college admissions essays.
I play with my dog, Fenris, my cuddly fur-baby. When he allows it, I write fiction stories and poetry. Sometimes, I can just go outside with Fenris and he thinks I'm playing. So I can take that time to read.
Netflix streams something wonderful to my house just about every single day.
While I'm not a movie buff, I do enjoy movies.
Gaming. Yes, I'm a role-player (Champions, since you ask).
I like to learn new things so I take continuing education classes--mostly for writing and editing.
I enjoy cooking. When I cook things well, I enjoy eating them.
