More About Joshua

I have a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in English literature, and I’ve worked as a parliamentary editor, writing tutor, writing workshop facilitator, university teaching assistant, research assistant, and newsroom copy editor. My goal as an editor is to help authors reach their full potential through the revision process.
What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?
I’d have to say that working on creative writing — fiction, personal essays, journalism, etc. — is my favourite. However, it’s the eclectic variety of documents and subjects I encounter that makes editing interesting for me.
In what subject areas are you an expert?
I worked at a university writing centre, where I helped graduate students in the sciences and liberal arts with their thesis projects and dissertations, so my strength is certainly in academic writing and publication. I also worked as a parliamentary editor for several years, and in that role I edited formal government documents.
What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?
I love being outside, and I live on the beautiful Bay of Fundy in Eastern Canada, so there are lots of wild places here to explore. I’m an avid mountain biker and hiker, and in the winter you’ll probably find me cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
