I graduated with a degree in history from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, I worked for 10+ years in TV production before becoming a freelance writer.
I'm a voracious reader and believe in lifelong learning, and I approach every editing assignment as a chance to learn something new. That being said, as a television hiring manager, I saw many cover letters cross my desk and find helping students write compelling motivation statements very satisfying. Also, being hopelessly monolingual myself, I enjoy assisting ESL students in navigating all of English's quirks.
I have extensive experience in television and film production, communications, and the arts. I'm also happy to dust off my history degree and edit in the humanities and social sciences. Finally, as a special needs parent, I have a deep personal interest in education, early childhood development, therapy, autism, and other developmental disorders.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, whether we are traveling, watching a movie, or just hanging in the backyard. I'm a huge animal lover and enjoy backyard birding and training our two Newfoundland dogs. And even after editing long hours, I still find picking up a book my favorite way to relax.
