We sometimes wonder Why Study History History is made up of different people trying to make some sort of change in our society Harriet Tubman was a colored woman that helped slaves escape into freedom The Bill of rights- 1st amendment helped people gain their freedom During the presidency of Lincoln he made many changes that affected the lives of many people today Harriet Tubman was a different type of woman that went out to help colored people abandon slavery She was born a slave herself and decided she didnt want to live like that One day she decided to escape When she successfully made it she decided she wanted to go back and help others Harriet Tubman helped more than 100 slaves get a chance to experience freedom She led them through dark forests and the underground railroad If she hadnt inspired people then not as many people wouldve gotten that chance The Bill of Rights was designed to give people a sense of freedom The 1st amendment is basically a persons everyday rights This includes freedom of speech press petition and religion Freedom of speech allows you to speak whatever you want Press allows you to writepublish anything you would like in the newspaper Religion lets you practice any religion you prefer Petition is basically protesting in something you think is right Without these the people of America would be a disaster During the presidency of Lincoln he tried making the USA better place He persuaded people that slavery wasnt an option He got more people to switch to the republican party Sometimes that ended up being a terrible thing because thats what got him killed If it wasnt for him though people today wouldnt have the courage to stand up for what they believe inIn conclusion history is made up of different people trying to change society Harriet the Bill of Rights and Aberaham Lincoln are only a few of the people
