Ancient Rome was one of the greatest empires in the world of ancient history One of its downfalls was because the empire was too big to control This lead to internal break down Rome tried to move the capital but it still didnt work Rome tried using different governments such as triumvirates A triumvirate is when there is no absolute power there are 3 rulers That was the type of government in the play of Julius Caesar The movie gladiator had 1 emperor and a senate The play Julius Caesar is about the rise and fall of Caesar and the aftermath Julius was rising in power and some of the senate did not appreciate this so they plotted against him And despite the warnings had he accepted them he might have lived Even thou Caesar was killed he is avenged Marc Antony takes Cassius and the rest of the senate to war Cassius was the head person against Caesar I feel that if he wasnt such a coward instead of killing Caesar he could of rose up Cassius could of rose up not by bloodshed but from word of mouth I say this because he could of convinced the people that Rome was becoming an absolute monarchy But then what goes around comes around Caesar killed Pompey so Cassius and the senate returned the favor The movie Gladiator is about a roman general maximus who seeks revenge The ruler marcus arelius wishes maximus to be his successor When commodus the prince finds out he kills his father maximuss wife and son He attempts to kill maximus but he avoids him And this leads to his revenge when he is picked up by a slave owner and is sold Commodus allows the games to be held at the arena The senate and the people dont like commodus as it is When maximus has his first fight he already won the crowd The senate
