How much do people spend on fish in an aquarium stores Some people spend eighty dollars on one fish To me thats a lot of money for one fish but when that fish starts to grow things on it that it is not suppose to grow what do you do Do you take the fish to the vet and spend more money on it rehabilitation when you thats right you can heal your fish your self There are three ways for a fish to contract a disease they are viral fungal and bacterial Probably the worst one out of all of these is the viral disease do to the fact it is the most undetectable disease for fish and is the hardest to cure but the disease I am going to show you is a bacterial Disease called white spots and does exactly what is says and that is putting white spots on a fish These are the signs and what you can do to cure it Signs Obvious white spots on the body andor fins of the infested fish Spots may resemble grains of salt The spots actually cysts may be up to 1 mm in diameter or may join together to form irregular patches Heavily infested fishes may scratch themselves on the bottom or tank decor and rapid respiration may be evident Life Cycle Adult parasites which feed upon the tissue of the fish fall into the substrate layer There it divides many times producing several hundred tomites which are the infective stage The tomites swim into the water column in search of a host and failing to find one die in a short time If they do find a host the tomites attach and encyst The life cycle is very dependent upon high temperatures and usually does not cause problems below 68 d Treatment
