At the start of this project I wanted to understand what the word sacred meant to people only then could I properly understand the response that people gave me The first thing I did was to look up the definition in a dictionary the definitions that it gave me wereDedicated to or set apart for the worship of a deityWorthy of religious veneration the sacred teachings of the BuddhaMade or declared holy sacred bread and wineDedicated or devoted exclusively to a single use purpose or person sacred to the memory of her sister a private office sacred to the PresidentWorthy of respect venerableOf or relating to religious objects rites or practicesOut of these definitions I suspected that when I asked this question to people they would assume I meant number 5 or that they would ask me to clarify To further investigate this question I teamed up with my partner Lexi and Olivia and we all went to Camp Randall Stadium to observe people in a Football game in what we thought was a scared place for UW Madison students During the game I noticed there were many people there students professors everyday people and even people who made the journey from far away to watch the game They were all taking pictures so they could remember the occasion All the people that I observed that were there were there groups At a later date I interviewed a person called Ben a name he choose as he wishes to remain anonymous and asked him what a sacred place was for him to which he responded his family dinner table He said he valued the family dinner time because of the conversation that usually followed suit whenever they sat down together When I asked him what was a sacred place to him in Madison he straightaway responded with Camp Randall Stadium When I asked him why he said it is the whole area because its
