This research assignment was to compare the demographic data of three countries of the year 2000 and the projection of 2025 one each from Europe Asia and Africa I decided to choose Poland Pakistan and Zimbabwe for no particular reason Each countries size and current populations are very different Even with such a great difference the demographics show many similar trends Polands current population is about 40000 and its projected population is a few hundred smaller even with longer life expectancies The projected rate of decrease is guessed at 3 percent The largest number of Polish citizens are between the ages of 30 and 55 As a well developed nation families dont have too many children and are concerned with money their jobs and education Polands population trend is very similar to ours in the US They even had their baby boom about the same time as we did Of these three countries Poland has and is still expected to have the longest life expectancy average Their rate of population increase which is actually a depletion is the lowest of the three countries In the coming years Poland will have to start worrying about Medicare and sheltering the elderly and will be able to focus on higher education Pakistan is projected to under go a serious population boom Their current numbers are around 140000 and they are expected to be close to 215000 in 25 years Pakistan is the only one of these three countries where a positive growth rate should occur More than half of the current population are too young to have children In 25 years these children will be adults and Pakistan is going to have a very hard time locating jobs for all of their citizens If Pakistan is to become a modernized country they will need to also focus on many new schools and teachers This will also help them in finding new jobs Im sure they will
