King Arthur and Julius Caesar are both loved by the people they rule but are betrayed by people close to them Both of these men have hidden flaws which eventually lead to their downfall These leaders have achieved much and the public loves them for this reason An analysis can be drawn on the ironic similarities of their lives and their tragedies Caesar and Arthurs biggest flaw is that they are blinded by their own arrogance and fail to see the whole picture In Caesars case he wants the crown so bad that he fails to listen to all the warnings people gave him Artemidorus reveals Caesars betrayers and states There is but one mind in all these men and it is bent against CaesarShakespeare 509 Arthur falls in love with Gwynevere despite Merlins warning She is destined to fall in love with Sir LauncelotMalory 587 Arthur marries Gwynevere anyway and later on she and Launcelot confess their love for each other Both leaders are betrayed by people close to them Julius is betrayed by the people in power underneath him Brutus and Cassius have a group of conspirators that plan to kill Caesar Cassius wants to kill Caesar because of hate and Brutus wants to kill him for the good of the people of Rome Brutus says It must be by his death and I have no personal cause to spurn him but for the generalShakespeare 493 King Arthur is betrayed by his greatest knight of the round table the knight he loved the most Sir Launcelot Launcelot the favorite of Queen Gwynevere to of whom he swore oaths of fidelity falls in love and Arthur sentences Gwynevere to deathMalory 587 This leads Arthur into a war with Launcelot which eventually leads to Arthurs death Arthur and Julius Caesar are also both loved by the people Rome has many celebrations for Julius They celebrate Caesars triumph over Pompeys Republic Some of the Romans dont
