Comparison of the Criminal Justice System and Social Service Work The Criminal Justice System is a very complex system There are many sections and agencies in this system Each of these sections provide a variety of service One service that the Criminal Justice System provides is the rehabilitation of juveniles There are many things that the Criminal Justice System does to help juveniles that are in trouble There are similar agencies that do the same thing that the justice system does An example of one of these agencies is Social Service Work They are different agencies but they provide the same service The process of services in these agencies are done differently but they both help juvenile Many steps are taken in the Criminal Justice System when a juvenile is arrested First the juvenile commits the crime and then he or she is arrested Next a decision has to be made whether or not to press charges Once charges are filed there is a court decision that has to be made The suspect juvenile is either arrested or released Justice 5 Regardless if the juvenile is arrested or released he or she still has to go through some sort of rehabilitation system Some juveniles have to serve community services Community service is when the juvenile has to work for the community or town for a period to time This time is given by the judge Community service is given instead of jail time justice 2 Another service that is provided is Teen Court Teen Court is a court for teenagers where decisions are made for those who break the law Back in my home town in Sabine Parish at the Sabine Courthouse there is Teen Court I was a defendant lawyer in this program There was a mock trial to decide the guilt and the sentence for the juvenile This program really
