Raising Comparisons In the movie Raising Arizona director Joel Coen shows the moralistic values between the two characters Herbert I McDonnough and Leonard Smalls One is a self-centered maniacal fiend while the other demonstrates a complete turnabout and finds his principles in life Here we will see how two men with such similarity in the past have now become the complete opposites this will eventually make their paths collide and decide if good will conquer over evil Leonard Smalls is a cold calculating manipulative man-hunter and a human bloodhound First of all Leonard is only interested in his own personal gain while at the same time finding pleasure in others misfortunes repeating to Dale Now there are people mind you there are people in this land wholl pay a lot moren twenty grand for a healthy baby Secondly Smalls likes to be the one in control by intimidating his audience with brute calculated force and harsh verbal actions telling Mr Arizona Cops wont find your boy Cops couldnt find his own butt if it had a bell on it Lastly Leonard is very intelligent and intuitive when it comes to being a manipulative man-hunter he has a keen sense of where to begin looking for clues and what information to obtain saying Wal thats my business Im a tracker-part Hopi Indian some say part hound dog When some dink skips bafl crushes outta the joint Im the man they call Unlike Smalls Herbert is a soft hearted sweet and sincere small time crook who is genuinely interested in becoming a law-abiding citizen and family man To start with HI McDonnough show that he is sweet and is warm-hearted by complementing Edwanda telling her Youre a flower you are Just a little desert flower In addition HI shows that he would do anything to provide for his familys well being committing petty crimes without using any brute sense of force on his victims saying to
